Meet our Speaker: John Meredith

John Meredith is an award-winning, licensed landscape architect. He earned his Wisconsin  license in 1995.  He has practiced in Door County for the past 20 years, and encourages his clients to use low level lighting options to preserve dark skies. For the past six years, John and his family have hosted a star party during the Perseids meteor shower each August on their farm. John is currently exploring using his landscape architecture experience to develop a venue specific for astrotourism. Much of his clientele is from Chicago, and they tell him that they cannot believe how dark the sky is when they visit and see it.

During the Moonlight Cruise, John will share his experiences thus far with astrotourism and preserving dark skies, as well as the benefits he has perceived through working to bring astrotourism to Door County. In his free time, John enjoys building things on the farm, going fishing, and trying new foods.
